It's always great news when a dog gets adopted! Here are some of our wonderful success stories of doggies who have started a beautiful new chapter with their new families.
Tara
Tara was found wandering the streets of Sacrameto and was adopted from Little Paws to a wonderful new family. Here's an update from her new Mom about the adventures she's been on since getting adopted:
"Tara has been such a wonderful addition to my life. She is such a happy pup - so sweet and loves everybody. When go to the dog park, she can’t get enough of both the dogs and the dog parents. She loves to run, chasing and being chased by other pups. We went on our first camping trip recently in my little teardrop trailer. We had a wonderful time and I’ve already scheduled our next trip in late October - we’re going to the beach! I’m excited to see how she reacts to this new, exciting experience. Tara has learned to ring a bell to be let outside and is completely house-trained. We’ve starting obedience training, and she is picking up new commands very quickly. She’s a very smart girl! Thank you so much Little Paws Doggie Rescue, I’m crazy in love with her!"
Apollo
Arrow, now Apollo was sadly found tied to an arrow fence, left along and hungry. He was brought into Little Paws Doggie Rescue and immediately needed a haircut. His fur was so long and matted that it was hard for him to see and he was terribly dirty. After he got cleaned up and recuperated, he was adopted into a wonderful new family. It was love at first sight and his new people shower him with love and attention, being the only dog in the house! His new Mom is a church minister, so Apollo goes to church and see all the people at the congregation which he loves. He even gets to watch the wild deer and turkeys from outside the window of the house, which keeps him busy when he's not socializing! He's adjusted brilliantly to his new home and we're so pleased that he's settled in and landed on his feet so well. Well done Apollo and family!
Angelica
Angelica was found on the street emaciated and dehydrated. She settled into us at Little Paws really well and made great progress in her recovery, putting on more weight and enjoying playing with toys. She was adopted into a wonderful family and now has a new sister, Bella. Here's what her new Mom had to say:
"Angelica came into our house a bit timid at first, which was to be expected but we were amazed that within the first week she was playing with us, jumping into our laps to snuggle, and most importantly connecting with Bella. It has been a joy watching them interact, we recently went on a day out to visit family and Bella was constantly checking in to make sure Angelica was doing ok. Angelica was a bit scared around the new people but was able to relax after watching Bella get scratches and pets from them. When we got home from our big day out they both cuddled up on the couch and took a nap. Angelica showed us how fun and silly a 12 year old senior dog can be, she has the energy to play and go on outings, but loves to just sit and cuddle with the whole family. We are so happy that we got to adopt her and are extremely thankful for all the great work Little Paws Doggie Rescue does!"
Helen
Foxie, now Helen was found wandering the streets and was picked up by Friends of Front Street Shelter. She was found blind, deaf and had terrible teeth that needed immediate dental work. Thanks to the support of Front Street, Helen got her dental work covered which she so desperately needed. After her procedures, she was adopted by a new family, and this is what Helen's new Mom said:
"With a lot of patience, Helen has become a perfect match for us, our dog and cat. She learned how to navigate every room, hallway, bedroom and door in the house. She especially loves the kitchen and tells us when she wants a treat. We set up beds in four different rooms so she always has a place to rest and nap when she is tired. She knows where her 3 water bowls are located along with other favorite resting places near her new sisters. She spends most of her days napping in one of her cozy beds or is sitting in our laps resting or just relaxing. Helen has thrived and we have gained a new family member that we love dearly".
Walter
Walter was a blind and deaf senior chihuahua. He was adopted into a family with another senior and he thrived in a safe, loving environment with care and attention. He loved to sniff around at the local park and still go on short walk in safe areas. His new owners had him for two years of joy before he passed away.
Bogie
When Bogie arrived at Little Paws from animal control, he was terrified and had terribly matted fur. He was with us for four months as he was so nervous with people, he needed time to grow his confidence. He was eventually adopted by a wonderful person who could give him the time he needed to be a happy dog again.
Pepper
Pepper came into Little Paws from animal control and was almost bald due to neglect. She needed baths three times a week to encourage her fur to regrow. Fortunately, her fur regrew into a beautiful coat and she was adopted into a great home.
These are just some of the great stories of doggies being adopted by amazing families, and there's so many more! All these dogs below have found their new forever home though Little Paws Doggie Rescue. Could you be the one to help another?
